DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) Peace Tourism Program Information


Hello, this is the WMEMC organizing committee.

The WMEMC organizing committee operates the 'DMZ Peace Tourism' program for event participants. The DMZ was established by the Armistice Agreement in 1953 and extends 2km each from the North and South Korean sides of the ceasefire line. The pain of division since the Korean War is embedded here.

Participants will visit Imjingak Park, which symbolizes the desire for unification, as well as the Dora Observatory, where they can view North Korea from the northernmost point in South Korea.

The event overview is as follows:

- Date and time: May 19, 2023 (Friday), 08:00 ~ 15:00
- Cost: 40$ (50,000 KRW)
* Payment can be made on the WMEMC website.
- Schedule:
Meeting point – Imjingak Park – Unification Bridge – The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel- DMZ Theater/Exhibition Hall – Dora observatory - Dora Station – Unification village (Pass by) - Lunch - Meeting point
- Assembly/dissolution: Entrance of Sungkyunkwan University (25-2 Sungkyunkwan-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea)

* The organizing committee accepts up to 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.If you wish to participate, please pay the participation fee by May 7th (Sunday).
* Refunds will not be given after payment, even if you do not participate. Please choose carefully.
* If there are fewer than 10 participants, the event will be canceled, and the amount will be refunded.
* Foreign participants should prepare their passport on the day of the event. Koreans should bring their ID (resident registration card, driver's license).
